The communication with my clients was done through a simple phpBB forum, it had about 4,000 users.
Organized parties, contests and all kinds of events.
I wanted to improve communication with my clients and installed a social network based on SocialEngine, the response of my clients was very satisfactory.
I gained more customers and my business went up, up and up. Which translated into higher income.
I wanted to improve SocialEngine and add add-ons to make the network much more attractive.
Look for who had more positive ratings, look for those who I thought were the best, in this case I chose SOCIAL ENGINE ADDONS, with all its stars and positive comments seemed the best.
I ignored the negative comments they have, I thought they would be isolated cases.
Here began my nightmare.
After 6 years working with them, the users of my social network went from 4,000 to 800.
Connected daily: 20 users.
My clients went from being 300 people on a Saturday night to 40 people on a Saturday night.
My internet followers left the network because of its malfunction.
And my clients gradually disappeared from my business.
The SOCIAL ENGINE ADDONS add-ons are conflicting, give many problems and their support service is very bad.
I read then all the negative comments they have on SocialEngine and they are the same as I had. What a shame not to have taken them into account.
Now I find myself ruined, 6 years losing clients and money have left me in ruin.
I have no choice but to change my location business and settle in one further away from the center of my city, cheaper and start over.
With 60 years I am, start over.
Start like when I was 20, or worse, with 20 years I started from scratch, with 60 years there are many of my clients who no longer want to know anything about my business, let's say I start with -2,000.
In these 6 years working with SOCIAL ENGINE ADDONS they have learned one thing.
The stars of SOCIAL ENGINE ADDONS are the stars of fear.
You start working with them and at the first installation they are already asking you to leave a positive comment. That's why they have so many stars. You leave them to improve your relationship with them.
The problems begin, the complements give failures, and they are not able to solve them.
You do not leave negative comments, or take away the stars for fear that the site is bursting and because there are always problems to solve.
Many of these add-ons are with code errors that other developers do know how to solve, but SOCIAL ENGINE ADDONS, doesn't know where they are and can't solve them.
They have the immense luck of being in India, where the justice of my country cannot reach.
If they were in Spain they would already be in the Courts denounced by fraud.
If you install a SocialEngine network, DO NOT hire anything with SOCIAL ENGINE ADDONS, its stars will deceive you and you will not be able to see the sunlight.
Hi ANGAR, We would like to apologise for your experience and sorry to hear you were less than satisfied with our product / service. I'm sure there is a reasonable exclamation, providing an exemplary level of customer support is our prime goal and we didn't intend to hang up on you. I've gone through the on-going support ticket and noticed the point regarding the upgrades. The ticket has the subject "UPDATE OF SOCIALENGINE AND PLUGINS SEAO" filed on 20th May with a request to upgrade SE & SEAO plugins, this request was entertained by our technical team and after this point, you continued to file issues / queries in this ticket, and our team has continuously worked on every issues & query and closed it as earliest as possible for you. Now, on 23rd July, you have upgraded SE version along with SEAO plugins at your end knowing that your website has many small custom changes / tweaks and direct upgrade can lead to lost those changes, but you did that from yourself without taking care of this. Then you had mentioned that these upgrades were pending, we as SEAO should do the upgrade from our-self without getting consent from your end. Although the subject of ticket instructs to upgrade the plugin, this doesn't imply that we will keep on upgrading the plugins as soon as there is a new upgrade available for any of the SEAO plugin or SE without a client consent for the same. Upgrades are only performed after receiving a request from the clients. For example, SE recently released 4.10.4 and we have received many requests for performing this upgrade and we have not simply asked from every client we have, that whether they want to upgrade SE or not. It is totally up to the client, we have provided 'plugin upgrade' section in our SEAO core plugin where upgrades can be checked and in case any upgrade is required, a request is filed for the same. In your case, you performed the upgrades at your end without providing any prior information to us. Doing self upgrades without taking any backup can also result in major issues like website crash etc. Regarding issues other than the upgrade one, our support agent has been in constant touch and solutions have also been provided for the reported points. Amongst the reported points there were few requirements which required custom changes and the same was clearly conveyed to you by our support agent. For avoiding the delay and providing fast solutions, our support agent even requested you to come online on LiveChat, but no response was received for this request, we understand you are not comfortable with English language, but we could have managed as we have multiple clients who do not speak English, but we communicate with them in real-time without any hassle. We are always open to work and help you out with any issue related to any of our plugins, SEAO is known for providing a great level of support to the clients. In-fact our support agents are available on LiveChat for providing all the necessary help to you. It will be helpful in understanding the issues well & to and fro communication will be avoided, also you will not need to wait for 12-24 hours for the clarification / help / solution of the reported issues. We have been working with SEAO for a year.
They initially setup our Dev and PROD instances on AWS as a Docker Container and Elastic Container Service (ECS), using Jenkins.
The setup was completed on time and the instance has been extremely reliable.
We have purchased a number of SEAO’s plug-in features and themes and found the products and their implementation services to be very professional.
They are very collaborative and communicate well, especially being remote.
We are extremely happy with them and will continue to use SEAO for all our SocialEngine requirements.
We've just started with Social Engine Addons but already can feel the difference. These guys are very experienced, quick and their products are impressive.
We've bought all the products from them and currently in the process of setting things up on AWS. I'll write another review when all is installed and working but in the meantime here are the things that impress me:
1. Very good knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
I personally have many years of experience managing sites on regular servers, but AWS proved to be a challenge for me. In theory it should be easy, but since it is so massive, the learning curve would take me months to get it right. SEAO saved us that time. They did LAMP setup and initial demo site deployment in one day.

For those who are new to AWS here is what was done:
EC2, RDS, S3, SSL certificate and DNS servers and probably other things I have no idea of yet. Each part requires a good knowledge/experience of what you want and how to do it right.
2. I am very impressed with how detailed all the plugins are developed and how well everything fits on SEAO demo. Being in software development for two decades I can tell this was a lot of work.
We are yet to find out how many log errors we'll see when site is ready, but given that SEAO is configuring everything themselves on environment of their choice (AWS) I expect a good outcome. Once site is fully operational I'll make another detailed review. We've got all SEAO plugins and a support for a year, so I'll be able to update on our progress.

I have been waiting 4 months for a working website. Every day I have a new problem with one of their plugins. Most of the plugins do not work like you would expect them to. The only thing worse than the plugins is the service. They are extremely slow to respond. Normally you get a response 2 minutes before they leave to go home so you have no way of replying or asking questions about their notes to your tickets. Since I am in the USA and they do not have 24 hour service, most of my issues take 4-7 days to get resolved. Some have been lingering for 4 months now. About 75% of the time they say they cannot replicate the problem when you explain the issue. I now have to work overnight, myself because if I do not stay on top of them, they completely ignore my support tickets. I have to ask them every day to reply to the tickets. Their communication skills are almost non-existent. My website crashes between 10 and 12 times every single day. I had to hire 2 people just to reboot the server every time it crashes. I was expecting to get a few hundred thousand members on my site, but now I have hundreds of members deleting the app every week out of frustration. Nothing works as it should. My recommendation is to find another company to work with.
