So far I am happy with the SEAO product and services. They are very creative and helpful. If you are a beginner like sometimes it is difficult to understand hot to work long distance with such a team but they always come up with solutions to the problems.
Social Engine is an awesome product. It covers every base you will need to start your social community... However, it is also incredibly robust and complicated to the uninitiated. It will do everything for everyone which means that you have to configure the software to do what you need it to do to fulfill your vision.
After a week or so of trying to figure it out on my own I purchased the full suite of Social Engine Addon Plugins (Recommended Expert) and also hired them to help me configure the platform. Wow am I glad I did. They have been able to turn what would have been a long and frustrating process and help me launch my community in around 45 days.
I want to give a special shout out to Ritika Saini who has been instrumental in achieving a successful launch. She went above and beyond at every turn. When she didn't know how to fix something, she called in resources to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. In fact, I was so happy with the service that I just purchased another round of development assistance to help with fine tuning the site and developing out the eCommerce phase so we can monetize. This company has worked very hard at every step to make sure that I am a happy customer, especially when there were bugs that needed to be fixed. (BIG THANKS RITIKA!)

TIP! This company is in India which may be a much different time zone. Communicate your dream clearly and in bite sized chunks. Use a google doc to communicate with your representative so you don't have to stay up all night. (Im in Canada) Don't try to launch the whole vision all at once, stage it out. Expect bugs that need to be fixed. This is a complicated system with MANY options for configuration. Some of the issues were native to the software, which they fixed, and some were just settings. Be patient and work with your team, they care about your success. Good luck!

We have to admit that SEAO is not a pure social network. It is more incline towards social collaboration. due to the nature of the features that enhance the capacity and the capacity of personnel to contribute more that a mere status update, but also the forum, pages, classified, interest, travel, sites, store and so much more. in short, this is a perfect fir for our requirement. support from the team also prompt. keep up the good work. we are here to support the movement to decentralize the social network provider.
I purchased all of their plugins for a SE site, and spent more then $1300. In presales phase I have to admit they are very fast and reply within hours. Until you place an order with them, then thigns change dramatically.
I asked them why I should buy their solutions and not others, they told me they are the number one SE partner (which I do not believe now). But then my nightmare started. Even though I asked several times to recommend be best practice for hosting, they were always insisting on AWS. I said fine, and gave them my AWS account details so they can install and customize theme. After they installed first time, site was super-slow...between 6 and 8 seconds to load a site, even everything was in Europe where I reside as well. They they did some optimization, which lead to a little performance increase. Then the plugins did not work. Note, it was an initial standard setup, no complex requirements, but tons of things not working. They were then working on the fixes for more then one month and could not get it running.
After one months time I just switched site from "development" mode to "production" mode, and since then my site is completely broken. 100 % broken. Not accessible. And you know what was their reply? I have done some changes so it is my fault. I told them 100 times I did not do any changes, funny thing is, I never worked with AWS so I even do not know how to change anything on AWS. All the time they still had full access to my AWS account which I gave them, but they simply said it was me who changed the settings, it was not their fault.
I then offered them a fair deal, refund me please $800 and keep $500 for the work you have done so far. I think paying them $500 for a zero delivery and broken site was fair from my side. They rejected.
Now I will inform SE about them, and take legal action.
I would be happy if someone wrote a review like this before me, it would have saved me a lot of money and time.
And yes, I know now very well why they will never ever give you a free trial on a live site.

After fighting with third-party plugins that don't work for 8 months, I FINALLY got the products and support I needed at SocialEngineAddOns. Personally I wouldn't recommend ANY third-party plugin suppliers other than SEAO. SocialEngine does a disservice to its' users when it recommends substandard and subgrade providers like HIreExperts and a few others, whose plugins seldom work and whose support is vague to non-existent. After this last week, my website is FINALLY working the way it was intended to work, thanks largely to replacing plugins from other third party vendors besides SEAO, WITH SEAO plugins and packages.
I purchase the Marketplace plugin last november. I had issues since day one. Every time I try to use another feature, there seems to always be another issue. They fixed some things after days and weeks. Support staff is friendly, but takes forever to get anything done. Now I had to purchase a support contract in order to help them test their system. Very disappointed as they have put my project in jeopardy. They provide 2 months of free support which you will need because of so many issues that havent even been tested.
The Support team here is incredible and provides quality service. If I could change my initial review, I would.

i have been working with SEAO for nearly 5 years and in all of this time they have never backed down from a problem or an issue. Their customer service is second to none and their Plugins are equalled in performance, design and functionality.
Unfortunately, I am beginning to change my views on SEAO. It is now apparent that the stability of their plugins are not as one would initially think. Their constant upgrades are now leading to an increasing number of bugs and issues. Many of which are recurring issue. They will fix one bug but in doing so they create 4 more. I have now had to remove some of their plugins as they keep crashing or have too many conflicts. While their support is ready to respond which is admirable, their actions do little to solve an ever increasing amount of issues.
