I have been waiting 4 months for a working website. Every day I have a new problem with one of their plugins. Most of the plugins do not work like you would expect them to. The only thing worse than the plugins is the service. They are extremely slow to respond. Normally you get a response 2 minutes before they leave to go home so you have no way of replying or asking questions about their notes to your tickets. Since I am in the USA and they do not have 24 hour service, most of my issues take 4-7 days to get resolved. Some have been lingering for 4 months now. About 75% of the time they say they cannot replicate the problem when you explain the issue. I now have to work overnight, myself because if I do not stay on top of them, they completely ignore my support tickets. I have to ask them every day to reply to the tickets. Their communication skills are almost non-existent. My website crashes between 10 and 12 times every single day. I had to hire 2 people just to reboot the server every time it crashes. I was expecting to get a few hundred thousand members on my site, but now I have hundreds of members deleting the app every week out of frustration. Nothing works as it should. My recommendation is to find another company to work with.
My organization has been a customer of SEAO for over five years and spent thousands of dollars on products and services dilligently attempting to build a mutually beneficial business relationship with this company. While they have usually corrected our SEAO plug-in issues in a generally timely manner, rarely have they done so without days of wasted time asking questions that could have been answered by simply logging in and testing or gather system information via entries in previously issued tickets and work orders.
Case in point: We've integrated the User Cover Photo plug-in into our design for several years. Not customizing changes to the original plugin code. SEAO issues an upgrade last year of the plugin with changes in the User name font size and wider buttons which shifts the buttons in my design down a line. I requested they correct this over 4 months ago and they have classified the correction as CUSTOMIZATION when it was their inconsistency in adhearing to previous design parameters which have been in play for years. We spent days (which turned into weeks) of e-mail exchanges detailing how this is not a customization. They have been unmoving (and display no concern on how this has seriously delayed our launch) in their position.
Most recently I upgraded to SE4.10.3p5 and now the entire User Cover
Photo display does not showup. SEAO wants to go in and make some unique modifications to my system which could easily be erased during the next upgrade, which has happened before. This of course can lead to SEAO telling me it as it has most recently that it will take customization charges to correct. I asked them in the past if the fixes they made in my system would be included in future upgrades of affected plugins and they assured me they would be. This has not consistently been the case!
I was ALL IN with SEAO but they've shown themselves not to reciprocate in kind.
A day or so after writing the above review I was contacted by SEAO. I received an apology and thanks for pointing out needed improvements in their plugin and product support. We have agreed to work together to resolve the issues discussed and they are currently working to remedy the feature discrepancy. I anxiously await a successful result. TBC... DS

As per your additional requirement of having the same layout as was provided in an older version of User Cover Photo Plugin, we are working on implementing the same layout in the latest plugin version. We have communicated other necessary info via email.

They're pretty open to doing custom work which is nice. If you're in the US, you generally won't hear from them until the next day. Unless you plan on doing business with them at night, I guess. They do handle pushing out the mobile updates on your behalf when it's approved, so that's a time saver.
So far I am very happy with the products I have purchased which was All SocialEngineAddOns Plugins - Package and any issues that have arisen have been dealt with very well and easily resolved by a polite and focused team. I am happy to continue purchasing more products including their 1 year Plus Plan subscription.

So I started my journey with Social Engine Add Ons with my app development and at first, everything went very well and smooth. After about a couple weeks of support tickets and emails, we started to go in circles per the bugs of the app development. After a few emails to the right people, we started to move forward again. I'm not positive what happened for a month of the support team not knowing what I was talking about but now everything seems like its moving forward and I have made multiple purchases with this company. I'm hoping to launch my app very soon and hope to keep working with this team as long as we stay on the same page. I have purchased several plugins from 3rd party "developers" within the Social Engine Platform. Social Engine Add Ons provides the best support, plugins [that are compatible with other 3rd party developers], and VERY competitive prices for WELL developed plugins. Not to mention, they are ALWAYS adding to their product portfolio in order to make sure Social Engine customers have the latest plugins to stay competitive with other Social Media Platforms.

Our team has been working with SEAO for the last several weeks to integrate a fairly complex platform. I've been very pleased with their responsiveness and their ability to resolve issues as I identify them. Their team members are friendly and easy to work with. If you intend to build a platform using SE, you will do well to select SEAO. Detailed review follows:
1. Plugins Selected
- Our site is using several of their large kits including the Crowdfunding, Groups and Events plugins. So far, we have found the flexibility and integration of the features they developed to meet all our needs. The plugins include many extensions that allow cross-integration between feature sets (e.g., you can use advanced videos in your crowdfunding project pages). We've been very pleased with the great flexibility of these tools.
2. Installation Services
- We selected AWS for our cloud infrastructure. The SEAO team is well versed in configuring your deployment on EC2. I have not attempted to use RDS for database services yet and it is an offering I wish SEAO would put into their portfolio; this would enable you to configure a master/slave database relationship with multiple slaves, and hopefully SE supports a read-only DB model for scale.
- With plugin installations, I would only note that you should double check your purchases for installs to ensure your larger kit packages are properly installed. SEAO has always been quick to rectify any missed plugins or extensions, but it is up to you to double check that everything you purchased is on your site.
- We are using their premium monthly support. As a US based platform, the timezone difference with India does introduce a delay, but I have found them very easy to work with in spite of that difference. I can usually expect a business day or two turn around on issues, unless they are more complicated and require a bug fix.
- You'll want to buy their premium support package. The price is reasonable and if you want to run a real network and platform, this is an investment you should make.
4. Themes, Look & Feel
- We are still making changes to our CSS and other customizations to tweak the look and feel, but I can say our experience has been reasonably good. I would strongly encourage you test on mobile devices as some menus and elements of the themes (e.g., Responsive Captivate) can have some odd layout issues when the theme responds to the mobile format.
5. Overall Assessment
- Go nowhere else. If you want to maximize the SE platform and take advantage of all its capabilities, use the SEAO tools and services.
